Of particular note is the microscopic aquatic trap of the carnivorous freshwater bladder wort. Although beguiling above water, this plant uses underwater suction traps to engulf water fleas, mosquito larvae, and even small tadpoles.

 

Anxiety, Perfectionism, and Insomnia

It doesn’t come as too much of a surprise that patients with insomnia may also report anxiety and perfectionist tendencies, but a recent PLOS ONE article further describes just how these might be interrelated.

 

Blue whales hold their breaths strategically

While blue whales can hold their breaths for a very long time, it’s still a balance to make sure that their underwater krill-catching acrobatics are as efficient as possible.
